It's the Hypocrisy, Stupid

Indiana Republican Rep. Mark Souder announced Tuesday he would resign from Congress, effective Friday, because he had an affair with a staffer. He also made an abstinence only video with the same staffer.

Seriously, I'm not one to judge what people do behind closed doors, but when you're an outspoken and I mean outspoken, proponent of traditional marriage (whatever that is), traditional family values (whatever that is) and committed to abstinence only sex education (whatever that is) and yet you have an affair with a staffer from your congressional office from where you pretend to be such a honorable family man... then you deserve to be targeted by the likes of me and everyone else who is watching those lying swine in DC who hold our very lives in their hands with their votes that make a mockery out of our democracy.

If you're a big fat hypocrite who tries to shove 'values' that you can't even adhere to down people's throats from the halls of congress, then you ought to resign from office for being a downright liar. Obviously, your religion didn't help you either.

Furthermore, don't blame Washington and politics for your downfall.

"In the poisonous environment of Washington, D.C., any personal failing is seized upon, often twisted, for political gain," he said. "I am resigning rather than to put my family through that painful, drawn-out process."

It's not for political gain, it's the hypocrisy. That's all.
Go home to your wife and see if she'll forgive you, if you're lucky.
