The Beijing Tourism Bureau is tackling mangled Chinese translations ("Chinglish") for names of dishes and drinks to be offered during the Olympics next year. In fact they have released a list with 2,753 proposed names.
Some examples of food's to be re-translated:
"steamed crap"
"virgin chicken"
"burnt lion's head"
"The temple explodes the chicken cube"
"Mushroom-Duck's Foot"
Etiquette campaigns have also been underway to "stamp out bad manners such as jumping ahead in line, spitting, littering and reckless driving."
From the AP
I'm still not going. How will they translate "melamine bread?"
