QUOTE OF THE DAY:

The older dictators fell because they never could supply their subjects with enough bread, enough circuses, enough miracles and mysteries. Nor did they possess a really effective system of mind-manipulaton.
Under a scientific dictator, education will really work - with the result that most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution. There seems to be no good reason why a thoroughly scientific dictatorship should ever be overthrown.
-- Aldous Huxley, Brave New World, 1958

It can naturally be argued that an administration headed by boygeorgebush is anything but "scientific" since the consensus, at least among the intelligent people I know, is that the poor son-of-a-bitch is dumber than a box of rocks. But then we must remember that he ain't really running the show--merely fulfilling his role as dummy, stooge, puppet, and patsy.

For a study which might shed some light on who's really in control I recommend The Wave Series by Laura Knight-Jadczyk, which is where I found Huxley's comment.
