Bob also takes a look at The Blue and Red State Minimum Wage Divide. Except for Florida, the former slave states, or Red States as they like to call themselves, have minimum wages at or below the federal rate of $5.15 an hour. A great big "Fuck the Poor" goes out to the senators this week who rejected a modest increase in the federal minimum wage. After all, why should poor shlubs who work 40 hrs/week be paid a living wage? They won't sign up as cannon fodder in the military if we pay people too well. no?
