Republicans for Rape

Jamie Leigh Jones was raped by several men at a KBR (then a subsidiary of halliburton) camp in the supposedly safe Green Zone in Iraq. When she complained, she was put in a shipping container. The US government and Halliburton have been covering up the incident (even though we discussed it here at the blog when it was first reported) and the DOJ hasn't investigated it.

From Raw Story:

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) introduced an amendment to a defense appropriations bill that would prevent the federal government from funding contractors whose employee contracts prevent workers from pursuing allegations of rape against co-workers.

The measure passed the Senate by a vote of 68 to 30, with all 30 'no' votes being cast by Republicans. Notably, 10 Senate Republicans voted for the measure, including all four female Republican senators.

Rachel Maddow listed the names of the 30 Republican Senators who voted against the amendment and invited them to come on her show and explain why they voted against it. So far, no one has offered to explain.

Check out Republicans For Rape for more information on who the lame duck senators are.
