The War On NY Continues

It's time once again for me to beat a dead corpse with a stick. My hatred for the GOP knows no bounds. Don't forget to see the update at the bottom.
WTC responders' illness worse than expected
Doctors who treat World Trade Center responders say they are surprised almost five years later by the growing number seeking help for the first time -- 100 people a month in the biggest monitoring program -- and by the severity of illnesses among Sept. 11 workers already in treatment..
And people wondered why I was livid when the GNC came to town. And why I keep posting stories about rescue workers, once dubbed "our heroes" who are getting the shaft.
Sick and tired of fighting for workers' comp
He broke into sobs when he discussed the workers' compensation case he filed in 2002. After nine hearings before a workers' compensation judge, followed by two appeals by insurers, Lopez still has seen no money. "I don't understand why they are torturing me," he said. "I want closure."
... And why I want to vomit when East Bumfuck gets federal money for fighting terrorism and NY gets slashed.

Feds slash NYC's anti-terror funds

"I really look at this as a declaration of war on New York," said House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King (R- Seaford).

King said he was told by Homeland Security Undersecretary for Preparedness George Foresman that New York got a smaller share of federal dollars this year because of alleged shoddy paperwork within the Department of Homeland Security.

...

"When you stop a terrorist, they have a map of New York City in their pocket," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Wednesday. "They don't have a map of any of the other 46 or 45 places."

....

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn-Queens), a member of the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, distributed a "possible" list of the nation's landmarks vying with New York's own for terror dollars.

The list paired Knotts Camp Snoopy Amusement Park in Minnesota's Twin Cities against the Empire State Building, and the Obsolete Computer Museum in Toledo, Ohio, with Wall Street.

And all along Hillary said that she would look into why the WH told the EPA to cover up their air quality findings after 9/11 and said she make sure NYC got adequate anti-terror funding. Feh. Useless.

UPDATE: Raw Story learned that Sen Hillary Clinton and Congresscritter Peter King of Long Island sent Michael Chertoff some postcards of famous NYC landmarks reminding him that indeed NYC has landmarks contrary to Chertoff's belief that it does not. The moron.

NY'ers are encouraged to send postcards to Mr. Chertoff but Raw Story does not post his address. Does anyone have it?

UPDATE 2: The Department of Homeland Security has ranked Washington D.C. in a low-risk category of terrorist attack or catastrophe, putting it in the bottom 25 percent of U.S. states and territories, as part of a decision that will cost the city millions in anti-terror funds, according to city and federal officials, the WASHINGTON POST will report Friday, RAW STORY has learned.
