He who has the biggest gun wins.

How do you vie for the Republican nomination for governor of the great state of Alabama?
Why you stand up for the second amendment, of course and make damn sure that a gun lobby endorses you.

Schools? bah. Health care? bah. Public services? bah.
Wer's mah gun, maw?

Gov. Bob Riley is endorsed by the NRA.
Former Chief Justice Roy "Ten Commandments" Moore is endorsed by Gun Owners of America.

Memorable quotes from the article:
"It's quite curious that the NRA endorses my opponent without seeking my position on the subject," Moore said. "I'm an avid gun owner. I have three boys who all have guns."

"I think the right to keep and bear arms is one of most valuable rights in the bill of rights," Moore said Monday.
I wonder if he realizes how lucky he is that angry liberals aren't weilding guns. Yet.
Gov. Riley told the crowd about the day his father gave him a .410 gauge shotgun when he was 10 years old. "We'll do everything we can to never let anyone infringe on your right to own and bear arms," Riley said.
Boy those endorsements wouldn't fly in my neck of the woods. Children with guns. oy vay. Give them a goddamned book to read, would ya?

What do you want to be when you grow up, Billy Wayne?
I wan' to be an Army man!
Well then, you just read this contract and sign it.
I cain't read that! But watch me shoot this here gun.

Not everyone in America agrees with the sentiments of Republican Alabamians and the NRA. NYC Republican Mayor Michael Bloomberg is fed up with the illegal gun problem and held a summit in NYC with mayors from many American cities. We're talking about illegal guns here, not about law abiding gun owners. Naturally, the NRA thinks this is all a big publicity stunt.

Memorable quote from the article:
"The mayor's answer is an elitist national campaign on the backs of law-abiding gun owners," said Chris W. Cox, the NRA's chief lobbyist. "Believe me, the rest of the country does not want Mayor Bloomberg's elitist gun policies, because they don't work."
PS. I am not making fun of the good people of Alabama. I am pissed off at their leadership for making sure that the fine people are uneducated enough to believe that the 2nd Amendment is more important than anything else in their lives. Rise up Alabama! Say no to gun sodomites!
