Bitchin'

by pissed off patricia

Good Morning
I have had two cups of coffee, two English muffins, and I'm ready to rock and roll.

The sweet Heretik asked last night if I ever sleep.  So I feel I owe him an honest answer.  Yes, I do sleep.

My brain seems to have kicked in and lined up my to-do list even before I wake up in the morning.  I don't know if this is a female thing or what, but I fall asleep thinking and I wake up thinking.  I sometimes ask Mr. Pop what he's thinking about and he will say, "nothing".  How can that be?  How do you shut your brain down and just not think?  I want to learn to do that.

Last night I watched Dan Rather bid adieu to his audience and his chair as CBS anchor man.  It was an okay last show but I was praying to whichever goddess rules the media that he would end his last show with something fine and dignified, but alas his last word was, "courage".  Dan you could have done so much better.  You should have said, the bastards tricked me, I fucked up and now you, America and the world,  are seeing what happens if you say anything but the freakin' praiseful bullshit that this administration demands of the media.  Oh man, Dan if you had said that there would have been a cheer heard around the whole damned world.  What the hell, so what if CBS went into a tail spin?  At least it would have been the honest truth, and talk about making lemonade out of lemons, it would have been the sweetest lemonade ever.

Tonight Bob Schieffer will be sitting in the news chair for CBS and I caution you not to watch the show because you will fall asleep within the first five minutes.  Dan was like hot pepper to Schieffer's milk and bread.  CBS doesn't want to stir up any more trouble so they will play everything super safe.

And finally, thank goodness we are looking into steroid use by professional athletes.  That rates really high on my list of personal concerns.  It rates just above giving a shit about.......wait, it doesn't rate above anything.  What the hell is it all about?  Is it to follow up on bush's State of the Union address last year when he mumbled something about the use of steroids?  Would that he were as concerned about the lives of our soldiers and their families as he is about what adult men put into their bodies.  I wish that was all that we had to worry about today, I sure do.
